Eater

By 10  am this morning, my two-year old has eaten:

a bowl of cherrios
a large orange
a gogurt
a cheesestick
2 hotdogs

He's my little linebacker.

Oh yeah, I've also changed 3 (count em) 3 poopie diapers.

Hailey Elizabeth

Hailey Elizabeth
7 lbs 4 ounces
21 inches
Friday, March 30th, 7:48 am
Tahoe Forest Hospital

She's here, she's here, she's finally, finally here.  This has been the longest 8 months of my life!  We are over the top grateful for her safe arrival.  I had an amniocentesis last Wednesday (you might think a ginormous needle going into your belly would hurt, but it really didn't) to test for lung maturity.  That test gave us the go-ahead to deliver on Friday (when I was 37 weeks).  The c-section went great.  I love my Doctor, she really got me through the last few months of this pregnancy (emotionally and physically)!

Hailey had TTN (wet lungs) accompanied by slightly immature lungs (the amnio ended up being inaccurate).  She had to be on oxygen, an IV, and a million little sensors for her first 4 days of life.  There is nothing I hate more than those sensors.  I remember the same thing with Hunter, your eyes stay glued on their heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, etc, etc, etc.  It a sensor comes loose (which happens ALL of the time with these wiggly little babies) then an alarm goes off and a red light flashes.  Its so comforting (lol)!
Kevin is delighted with Hailey.  He is a proud, proud daddy.
Ummm, I don't know where he got this contraband.
Megan has been singing lullabys to Hailey.  She has an incredible vibrato (trying to imitate sleeping beauty, I think.)
The hospital was incredible.  We loved our nurses.  They even gave Kevin and I a special "stork dinner".  The food was surprisingly good.

First time Grandma Marjie got to hold Hailey.
Wow, I all of the sudden feel like I have a lot of kids.
Hailey Bug on the blanket that Grandma Beverly sent.

Isn't she lovely?  We are in heaven.  Now if I can just protect her from my wild 2 year old, all will be well!
