Grandpa and Grandma's winter visit

Grandpa and Grandma came for a very welcome visit this winter.  They were on a "Northwest Tour" and swung by our house for a few days.  It was warm when they were visiting so we got to spend sometime outdoors (hallejuilah!)

I'm sure grandpa is telling some hilarious joke.

How could I resist this picture!

Snow Days

I remember ONE day growing up that we had a snowday.  We were so excited.  Well, in Tahoe, we have snowdays often.  So often, that they build days in to the end of the school year as a preemptive measure.  We've only had 3 snowdays this year because it has been a mild winter.
We love to start snowdays with a science experiment.  This is the ol standby, baking soda and vinegar to blow up a balloon.  The kids love this one.
We usually make homemade playdough.  The kids (especially Meg) can spend hours with play dough!

Megan is 5!

This lovely little girl is 5!  She is full of personality, princess, and play.  She loves to talk, and talk, and talk.  (Not sure where that came from.)  She loves her ballet class and is very graceful.  She FINALLY made it onto the growth chart at the Dr's office, now at the 3%.  She asks us daily when she is going to start Kindergarten.  She has her room all set up to welcome the new baby sister home.

Meg begged Mommy for spaghetti and meatballs for her birthday.  We talked about it for a week beforehand and she excitedly told friends at preschool, grandmas and grandpas what we were going to have.  To our amazement, at dinner, she announced that she doesn't like meatballs.  Hmmmm . . .
Grandma Marjie made Meg and apron for her birthday, and of course had to throw some football aprons together for the boys!

Her birthday party with her friends (first ever party with friends) got a little out of control.  We ended up moving it to the Airport's old admin building.  We had her with her little friend, Lilly (her mother Sarah and I are good friends).
